The Editing Assistant
Nine Modes, One Sparkle Icon
Select a segment, open the assistant from the target column toolbar, and pick a mode. It reads the source text, your current translation, and the translation memory matches available for that segment, then offers a revised version on the right. Not convinced? Retry gives you a different attempt without repeating itself, and you can compare several modes before choosing one.
Fix Fuzzy
Adjusts a fuzzy translation memory match to fit the source text. Built for the high-percentage matches, ninety and above, that need small corrections rather than a rewrite.
Fix Terminology
Corrects terminology in the translation against the translation memory and term base matches available for that segment, so approved wording wins.
Correct Errors
Fixes grammar, spelling, and other errors without changing the meaning of the translation.
Rephrase
Rewords the translation while keeping the same meaning. Useful when the phrasing does not flow, or when you want an alternative to compare against.
Shorten
Makes the translation more concise without losing essential meaning, for when the target text has to fit a character limit.
Make Formal
Rewrites the translation in a more formal register, for professional and official content.
Make Informal
Rewrites the translation in a more casual register, for marketing copy and conversational UI text.
Suggestion
Writes a fresh translation for the segment from scratch, independent of whatever is in the target box now.
Original
Resets the box to your current target text, so you can read through several suggestions and still get back to where you started.
How the Assistants Behave
Assistants Suggest, You Decide
Deliberately undramatic: a popover attached to the segment you are on, leaving your text alone until you say otherwise.
- Available on any segment that is not locked
- Works on the target text of the segment you have selected, using the source and the memory matches as context
- Apply inserts the suggestion and replaces your current target text, and nothing happens before that
- Retry generates a different attempt for the same mode, avoiding what it already tried
- Switch modes to compare results before committing to one
- Pin it and it follows your focus from segment to segment, so you can work a whole file without reopening it
The AI Panel
Describe What You Want to See, and It Builds the Filter
Filtering a large grid usually means picking fields, operators, and values one at a time. The AI panel takes a sentence instead. Write 'Show all confirmed segments in French with QA errors' and it configures the filters for you, then shows a View Filters link so you can check exactly what it set. Follow-up prompts refine what you already have, because it remembers the conversation.
- Covers the major filter types: status, bookmarks, labels, text, comments, QA issues, edit history, locks, string IDs, text length, and your custom fields
- Follow-ups work in context, so "now the same for German" does what you would expect
- Write prompts in any language your interface offers, and it replies in kind
- Reset Filters clears both the filters and the conversation, so the next prompt starts fresh
- When it cannot interpret a request it says so, rather than guessing
