How a Termbase Is Built
Concept First, Not Just a Word List
A termbase stores individual terms with their meaning, context, and metadata, not full sentences. Wordbee follows the TBX standard (ISO 30042), which organizes terminology by concept first, then language, then term, so one idea can carry synonyms, definitions, and translations across every market at once.
Three-Level Structure
Concept, language, and term levels follow the TBX 3.0 standard. A single concept holds a domain, a definition, and notes, then branches into entries for each language you work in.
Synonyms and Abbreviations
Each language entry can carry a main term plus any number of synonyms and abbreviations. The approved choice leads, and the alternatives stay on record for recognition and lookup.
Multilingual by Design
Add as many target languages to a termbase as you need. One concept reaches every market, so the word for a product feature stays aligned from German to Japanese.
Custom Fields
Beyond the standard TBX fields, add your own: text, pick lists, hyperlinks, images, or checkboxes. They are searchable in the editor and in Global Search.
